Central Canada Martial Arts Association
Powell's Personal Combat System was created by Grand Master Gary Powell by taking the traditional teachings he learned through out his life and reflecting upon them based on real life street fighting experience. Every technique has been tested in live situations over the years and refined for maximum effect. Grand Master Gary Powell has designed each move to act as an open puzzle piece that may connect with any other technique or range of skill required creating endless possibilities. The basic philosophy is there are no rules in a street fight, if one cannot see he cannot fight, if one cannot hear one cannot fight, if one cannot walk he cannot fight. When in doubt always resort to the first rule that there is no rules in protecting ones self in a real situation so long as you are alive and safe in the end of the situation. He also teaches such philosophy that attack is the best defense. If one sees it coming one should respond offensively towards the situation since reaction time will be faster. Grand Master Gary Powell also has a large amount of sensory training involved internally and externally while developing all ranged of combat. He has three primary belt levels in Powell's Personal Combat. Novice, Intermediate and Black belt. After This each Dan is issued to the student based on his over all refinement of technique as well as learning history philosophy and technique from different styles to show examples of its strengths and weaknesses based on his skill. Please see the Curriculum page to further see what each belt level requires for promotion purpose.
